Whether the scale reads 2 lbs heavier or 5 lbs lighter,
The world will never know.
But I know.
Whether I choose not to wear a shirt that feels a little tighter
Or pants that run a little bigger.
Only I will know the difference.
Make-up is used to cover the insecurities
A curling iron to disguise the doubts.
For some, it is not the judgement of others that represents our struggle.
But the judgement we so harshly place on ourselves.
Not a comparison to others,
But comparison to the reflection we wish we saw.
If only.
If only we saw what God sees.
If only we recognized our worth.
If only we knew how much more our hearts can say,
Maybe then we would stop listening to the number on a scale
Or the size of our jeans.
Maybe then we’d know
How more than enough we are.
